February 2002 - Tim bought a one-ton truck at state auction to build a new truck at Station 3. Heath Morris was voted as new Fire Chief Scott Walker is new Assistant Fire Chief and Ed Martin is Lt. for Station 1.

May 2002 - Lloyd Mangum will be greatly missed by this department. As one of the founders and supporters through all these years, I can remember times when Lloyd would reach into his pocket to give money when there was a need. There was always a need! At all fund-raisers he always said to start the pie auction out at $5 because he would give $5 a pie if no one else ever bid. He was always there to help out in the background and never wanted any recognition for all he did. Grant was received from TCFP for 4 sets of bunker gear and 2 sets of air packs. Loan received from TCFP to build tanker 2 and Brush 3. Ed Martin will attend Fire School at Texas A & M with a scholarship from the Farm Bureau.

June 2002 - Steve presented a 1996 Chev 6-ton truck that was donated by Jerry Don Daniel.

October 2002 - Brush 3 was put into service at Station 3.
|
November 2002 - Received a $12,400 grant from TCFP for tanks, valves and equipment for pump tank and 2 air packs. Third flyer is in the mail. Kyle McLemore joined as junior firefighter. Received a $60,000 grant from Texas Forest Service for a new brush truck for Station 1. Department will have to pay $6,000 of cost.
