Have been President since starting SVZVFD in February 1984. Self-employed with own auto repair business in 1984 when, along with two others, saw the terrific need for fire service in our neighborhood. We decided to have a community meeting to determine if there was any interest in starting a volunteer fire department. At that first meeting, a board of directors was elected and I accepted nomination to serve as president, which I continue to do. I have been employed with Wagner Cadillac in Tyler since 1986. I worked there as a service advisor for 12 years and body shop manager for 8 years. Since 2006 I have enjoyed being a new car salesman.

I have been a firefighter with South Van Zandt for fourteen years and a full-time firefighter with city of duncanville for six years. I am married and have one boy and one girl. I enjoy volunteering for the fire department.

Have been treasurer since February 1987. Have been employed by Martin’s Mill ISD since 1989. First two years I worked as first grade teacher aide. The next three years I was principal’s secretary for both elementary and high school. The last seventeen years I have been a para-professional in the library. That is my favorite job of all.

I served in the Marine Corps for 21 years (Active and Reserve) as a nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare officer. I have worked in the Information Technology field for over 33 years, primarily as a Project Manager and Business Analyst. I currently work for Winning Strategies Marketing in Canton, Texas as their Information Technology Manager.

I live close to Station 1 and run calls from Station 1 as a Firefighter/EMT. I joined South Van Zandt Volunteer Fire Department in 1984, attended the Texas A&M fire school in 1985 and served on the department until 1986. I rejoined the department in 2011 when my family and I moved back to the area.
